ABSTRACT: The Impact of Career-Oriented Electives in Vocational Education explores the influence of specialized elective courses on vocational students' career readiness and skill acquisition. This study investigates how offering elective modules aligned with industry demands enhances students' practical knowledge and employability prospects. The objectives were: to assess the effectiveness of career-oriented electives in preparing students for specific vocational roles, to analyze student perceptions and outcomes related to elective course participation, and to identify best practices for integrating career-focused electives into vocational curricula. A survey design was selected to gather insights from vocational educators, students, and industry professionals, providing a comprehensive view of elective impacts. A sample size of 250 respondents was purposively chosen to include stakeholders with direct experience in vocational education and elective course offerings. The case study focused on the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, Oyo State. Findings indicated that career-oriented electives significantly enhanced students' job-related skills, career clarity, and readiness for employment. It is recommended that vocational institutions should collaborate closely with industry partners to design relevant elective modules, provide adequate resources for practical training, and continuously evaluate elective effectiveness to meet evolving industry needs.
